2nd Meeting of Diplomatic Clubs Strengthens Global Diplomatic Connections in New Delhi

The 2nd Meeting of Diplomatic Clubs, a joint initiative of The Diplomatic Club of Oman and the Diplomatic Club of Slovenia, was successfully held in New Delhi under the esteemed auspices and guidance of His Excellency Issa Saleh Alshibani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to India, with the generous support and hospitality of the Embassy of Oman in New Delhi.

The gathering brought together diplomatic clubs and organisations from Oman, Slovenia, Scotland, India, Armenia, Qatar, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, Nepal and Syria, reflecting a growing international commitment to strengthening connections beyond traditional diplomacy.

Under the theme “Growing Together – Building One Global Diplomatic Club Community,” the initiative aims to establish a global network of diplomatic clubs, encouraging cultural exchange, strategic partnerships, business networking, youth engagement, community initiatives and international cooperation.

In honour of this international gathering, His Excellency Ambassador Issa Saleh Alshibani also graciously hosted a special dinner bringing together Arab Ambassadors accredited to India and representatives of the Arab diplomatic community, including the Arab League. The evening provided a valuable platform for diplomatic dialogue, exchanging experiences and exploring the growing role of diplomatic clubs as instruments of soft diplomacy.

The discussions generated great enthusiasm, particularly among representatives of countries without established diplomatic clubs, who expressed interest in developing similar platforms and becoming part of this expanding global network.

The Diplomatic Club of Oman expressed its sincere gratitude to His Excellency for his continued guidance, personal commitment and generous hospitality, as well as to the Embassy team for their exceptional support in making the gathering a success.

The initiative marks another important step towards building a connected global diplomatic community, strengthening international friendships and advancing Oman’s role in promoting dialogue, cooperation and soft diplomacy beyond traditional diplomatic boundaries.
